We are a self funded charity made up of fantastic volunteers dedicated to the Prince of Wales Park. We meet twice weekly on a Wednesday and Saturday morning at 9 am for half a day. Tools are provided, Each session has a first aider and a Site Manager to organise the session.
The Friends of Prince of Wales Park are delighted to announce that their latest improvement, “The Patio”, is well underway. As the Friends group is unfunded, such projects are impossible without help. This project has been made possible with an award from The Postcode Local Trust, which is a grant giving charity funded entirely by players of the People’s Post Code Lottery.t Code Lottery for their support.
The work is driving the regeneration of a dilapidated and run-down area of the Prince of Wales Park. Our award is enabling the removal of an old patio surface with improvements in drainage and the laying of a new crushed stone surface. There will also be picnic tables, one with disabled access and the introduction of a new, informal seating area. A huge effort from the Friends volunteers prepared the area and the funding from the Postcode Lottery trust means the new ground works can be professionally undertaken.
Where is the patio?
The next time that you come to our patio, sit in the midst of nature and enjoy a chat with friends, remember that without this funding the regenerated area would not have been possible. The Friends would like to say thank you to the many volunteers, Marine Landscapes and Groundworks and to the players of the People’s Post Code Lottery for their support.
After consulting with the Charities Commission we are postponing the AGM and reviewing the situation at each of our monthly committee /Trustee meetings
